NROTC SCHOLARSHIP FOR CURRENT JUNIORS
The applicant portal is open to apply for the NROTC Scholarshop and the earlier you start the application process, the better.
To qualify applicants must score 1000 combined on the SAT, or 22 on the ACT, they must be a US Citizen, and meet physical qualifications.
Also, any student that expresses interest in applying to a service academy should also strongly consider applying for the NROTC Scholarship. Only applying to the service academy is like only applying to one university; always better to have more options available, especially when it comes to the funding of follow-on education.
IIn case you are interested, below is a short three minute video on the program: https://youtu.be/cX9XTGl2tsg

SMHS PTSA SCHOLARSHIP
Due May 8, 2020
Through its many fundraising efforts, the San Marino High School PTSA provides scholarship funds to graduating seniors. The PTSA Scholarships are awarded on financial need, academic performance, and extracurricular accomplishments. Last year, scholarships were awarded to three recipients. This year, the PTSA has approximately $5,500 to distribute.
In addition to the financial statement, which you and your parent or guardian must complete as part of the application for scholarship assistance (this document is kept completely confidential and only a select few people have access to this information) the Scholarship Committee needs to know something about YOU, your accomplishments, your interests, and your aspirations.
Your application for the PTSA scholarship must include the following:
1. A cover letter, written to the Scholarship Committee, in which you explain your involvement in the areas of community service, leadership, school-related activities, extra-curricular activities, and/or work experience. Please also state the name of the college you will attend and your reason for attending college.
2. A resume highlighting community as well as school activities.
3. A copy of your high school transcript. Students can obtain a copy of their transcript by emailing Ms. Quiroz in the registrar's office, [email protected].
4. A copy of your FAFSA SAR (Student Aid Report).
5. A letter from a parent or guardian. The letter should include a statement of any unusual circumstances that make the scholarship necessary, as well as a statement that you have applied for this particular scholarship.
6. A copy of your financial aid offer from the school to which you plan to commit.
San Marino High School PTSA Membership is required. (We will check to determine if your family is a member of PTSA at the time of the application and if not, will ask for an $8 fee and completed membership form.)
Please email all information to Alison Moller, PTSA Scholarship Chair, at [email protected] no later than 12:00 noon on Friday, May 8, 2020. Again, your information will be kept strictly confidential.
